Make Something from Something
It has been damn near impossible for me to finish anything creative lately. When that happens it often helps to do something really simple and repetitive to get the finishing momentum going again. It also helps not to put pressure on myself to be particularly inventive, but rather to “make something from something” that already exists through a combinatory process like collage or an elimination process like blackout poetry.
Here’s a gallery of some of what I’ve been working on these last 6 weeks or so…
Collages
Blackout Poems
Your Turn
I highly recommend either or both of these processes if you’re looking for an outlet right now. All you need is some old magazines and/or newspapers, scissors, glue (for collages), paper, and a black marker. Let me know if you give it a try!
Take care & wear your masks,
